This is Hoag's Object, one of the rarest and most mysterious galaxies ever discovered. ​What makes it so weird? It's two objects in one, with almost nothing in between. The center is a tight ball of ancient, yellow stars, while the outer loop is a perfect ring of brand-new, hot, blue stars.
