MILAN (AP) — Alina Muller did it again. Twelve years after scoring the clinching goal to deliver Switzerland its first Olympic medal in women's hockey — a bronze at the 2014 Sochi Games — Muller scored 9:09 into overtime in a 2-1 win over Sweden on Thursday for the bronze at the Milan Cortina Games.
Switzerland and Sweden face off in the women's ice hockey third-place game of the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina on Thursday, with both teams hoping to claim bronze.
There are five members of Team USA competing at the Olympics who are over 40. Two of them have won medals at the Milan Cortina Games: 40-year-old Kaillie Humphries and 41-year-old Elana Meyers Taylor. NBC News’ Molly Hunter reports.
