OK, I once again got it working. I removed the wine packages and re-installed them. The only thing I did differently was to install them as myself rather than as root.
I haven't done Wine+WoW, however I have done Wine+other applications, and in Ubuntu it is so easy it's ridiculous.<BR><BR>I would suggest installing Ubuntu 8.10, installing Wine, and giving it a try.
